Title: Trackers with antilock brakes
Post by: keith on November 04, 2004, 05:25:27 AM
Does the antilock function in 4wd?  I know on some vehicles it does not.

Yes, I believe it does. The RWAL is basically a pendulum in the axle. If it swings hard and fast one way, it sets off the anitlock.

Would you be refering to your 01 Tracker? I have an 02 XL7 and yes, my anti-locks work in 2wd, 4wd hi and 4wd low. Though I still pump sliding down a hill, I can here the ABS pump going at it.

Yes, I am referring to the 01.  It would seem to me that anti-lock would be a hinderance when wheeling.  I've never been that impressed with anti-lock even on road.

ABS does little when in 4WD,
and espesially with lockers,
all the tires have to turn anyway
