If you get bigger tires dont you have too change your speed sensor or something, so you can tell if you are doing the proper speed limit? ???
-
Yeap!!
But you quickly can figure out how fast your going ... just drive at 100km (60miles) pass a speed trap and when you get pulled over ask how fast you were actually going and adjust according... ;D ;) :P Might be a bit pricey thou....

There is a measured 5km stretch just outside of Edmonton...I use that every time I swap out tires so that I can adjust for the speedo error...with 235/75s at 110km/h indicated I'm actually doing about 117km/h. With 215/75s the speedo is dead on.
If you have a GPS it will show your actual speed vs indicated speed as well

Yep, that's what I did ( and will have to do again once the 33's are on the car )

is there any other way??

Do you have km marker posts on your roads? If so, you can check the km on your odometer against that.
You could also run 60 KPH and see how many km you travel in 1 minute (it should be 1 Km).

Or, you could go here http://www.izook.com/gearcalc.htm
and punch in the numbers

The easist way is to follow a friend that has a car with a good speedo.
If you have cell phones call one another, and at certain speeds have them let you know what speeds your doing and you can mark it down.
If you don't have cells, put your friend in front of you and have them wave out the window at say, 45, 55, 65 mph.
Then you just learn to read your speedo differently.

just stay with traffic flow.....

I just find its easier to go to a speedo shop and have them put in a gear reducer box to fix it.
But after that expense.
After putting the 5:83s in (I have 32"inch tires) I took out the gear reducer and everything is back to normal ;D
Just look in the Phonebook under Speedometers (I guess)

Ask a cop, Very nicely and when their in a good mood

in my country, it is illegal for the driver to talk on their cell phones and drive at the same time. when caught doing this, a $60+AUD fine will result, depending on the mood of 'Mr. Justice Server'.
i checked mine with a couple of friends cars, one was brand new (brand new/stock cars speedos usually read a bit less than actual speed) and another 6 years old, both of which indicated a 10km/h increase in speed on my vit. at different speeds, it read a constant 10km/h over the actual speed. +/- 1 or 2 km/h.
i've been past a digital/radar speed checker along the side of the road, and it too said i was about 10km/h over the indicated speedo on my vit. 10 is an easy number when figuring speed when i drive, so when i got at 80km/h i'm at 90km/h. easy.
other than that, i dont know how else to do it. i've heard of speedo correction units, but only for the sierra/samurai.

Get a GPS and a Dash Mount. :)
I remember reading in a magazine a while back where they took a Bicycle spedo and wired up the reader on the rear driveshaft. Once they had it programed correctly it worked great.

Here in Michigan (US) it seem like everyone is driving and talking on the phone at the same time. I hate it! I have a cell and most of the time pull over to use it.

I remember installing aftermarket cruse controls that worked that way. You placed a magnet on the drive shaft, mounted the pickup to the body.
I'd just learn how it works. Once you get use to it, it's no big deal. I guess if these are the only size tires your going to run I guess you could invest in a corection device.
