Title: Jeep weber on Sammi
Post by: Indy on December 28, 2007, 12:24:38 PM
Playing around with new carb ideas on my '86 and wandered over to the weber site.  I have 2brl weber on a parts cj5.  Looking at weber parts #'s I see the CJ's have carb # 32/36 DGEV and the sammi part # is 32/36 DGAV.  The only difference I can see is the CJ has an electric choke and the sammi has a water choke, which I'm entirely unfamiliar with.  Guessing it just changes choke based on water temp.

Any reason I couldn't get an install and linkage kit and just drop the CJ carb onto the sami?  I imagine I can figure out how to run 1 wire to the electric choke and bypass the water   I'm looking for a little more oomph and hopefully a couple more mpg.  If its that simple, is it worth the work or will I end up with roughly the same power as I have?

the nice thing |removethispart|@ weber is the jetting.
seems to me that if you can mount it, you can run it.
do the jeeps use a different throttle linkage hookup?

dunno, there was no throttle linkage on the jeep when I bought it.  Idled it 10 miles from shop to shop tho' and the jeep ran great!   Been researching since I posted, looks like the choke is no biggie.  I just need to get adapters to mount it, and I maybe something to adapt the throttle cable.  Can't find any real info on that part tho'.
