What is necessary to swap over from my Tracker front grill/headlights to a Suzuki grill and headlights? Are the hoods and fenders the same? Anybody ever done this? I hate the Chevy emblem on my "ZUK"!
Thanks,
Eric

Fenders are the same, hoods are different. I forget which year the Vitaras went to the "newer" cosmetics, 2003 or 2004 or so I think; You may have more work to do if you try for that.

anybody done this? Core supports the same?
If not... Anyone have any pix of a "debadged" Chevy grill for ideas?
Thanks again,
Eric

Yes, it's been done many times. Dig around on cardomain and whatnot.
like this guy: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/459708
(edit: You know, that looks like the hood is unchanged. Hmmm. I may have my wires crossed somewhere. The XL-7's hood was definitely different than my Tracker's, though.)
I'd seen another who kept it more stock-looking, too.
Yes, all the core stuff is the same, as they were made on the same assembly line. I've considered it many times myself as the design is a little cleaner, but of course I'd be transplanting the bowtie onto the Vitara grill (as I did the wheels). At this point I'm just going to wait until I someone smashes my front end or hail dimples the hood.

PERFECT. Exactly what I was hoping. Just a swap of grill and headlights... Anyone want to trade? ;)

i know the front grill for the vitara changed in 2002, the lip of the hood is straiter over the grill, with the older vitara grill like on the cardomain tracker seems ok, those grill were made between 1999-2001
