I want either offset rims or spacers.
I would rather buy rims but want to go the cheapest route.
I'm running 30"x9.50"x15 Mud Trac Radials right now.
Who sells the rims and if the spacers are cheaper who sells those?? Thanks for the help ;)
-
For spacers I would look at eBay... Type in "Samurai spacers" I just bought four 1.50" for $119 total.
Hope this helps...

The size we need for the Sammy are not listed on the website, just call them up.
51 series (D-windows)
97 series (Round Holes)
These are for the 15X8 size, 5X5.5 bolt pattern and 2.5 backspacing.

Try summit, rocky road and trailtough(?).

I just bought 5 rims 15x7 with 2.5" back spacing from pro comp it is not a size they stock but they will make them up for you

What kind of $$$ for them and does that offset yield a full 2.5 wider??will they make them with more offset??
Thanks for the help.

They were only a few bucks a rim more to get them made. I believe you can get 2" back spacing, but with the 2.5" i find that's all I need. I tried to upload some pics so you could see them but can't figure out how to do it.

So the F-150 has the same bolt pattern and center hole diameter as the Samuri??
Too cool I'll do just that ;D
-
only the aftermarket wheels for the f150's hae the proper center hole diameter....i searched junkyard after junkyard only to discover that.....then i called discount tire, and the steelies were about the same price as some junkyard steelies.....so thats the route i took....

Thanks for the help Geeeooo...saving $$ on wheels will be $$ toward the Boggers that I want ;D
-
Sorry bud still can't figure out the picture thing ???
-
not a problem...glad to help out man.....and also for tires.....i know this is gonna cause some dilemma on the forum, but i have retreads.....best $250 i've spent on the thing....these tires wear like iron, and are some really agressive tires.....best of al is that the tires dont need to be balanced...they are balanced while they are being made.....mine are from hi-tec retreads....just another idea to save some loot, man.....and from my experience with these tires, they are definatly worth it....ive had mine for almost 2 yrs...and ive put almost 20,000 on em.....ill definatly be getting another set of these tires when mine wear out....also im beginning to out-grow my 235's....getting too much lift, and its startiong to look funny with my teeny tires
-
O.K here are a couple pics These are 15x7 with 2 1/2" back spacing. They were $55 cnd each (not bad for new rims)
-
The rims did not come with the bead locks, I put them on after

Thanks Mud Child
It's pretty cool when you figure out how to post pics 8)

I have edited my original post with the 4wheelparts part numbers and this is why.
Do not do business with 4wheelparts. I had 2 different locations pull a bait and switch on me. Very unscrupulous business practices. I will not state the salesmen’s names for their protection.
I called the Compton location and asked to be quoted on five rock crawler series 51 (D-windows) steel wheels 15X8 with a 2.5 backspacing and 5 BFG AT K/As in a 31X10.5. I was quoted $900 OTD mounted and balanced, plus they would even throw in lug nuts and center caps since I was buying 5 wheels and tires.
I went out wheeling and noticed the ATs were not doing as well as the MTs, so I decided to go with the MTs instead.
Well I called back the Compton store and my sales guy was not available. So I called the other 4wheelparts down the street (Redondo location). I asked for almost the same deal, 5 rock crawler wheels, but this time 5 BFG MTs. The MT are about $30 bucks more each, so I figured it should be around $150 more.
Sure enough it was. The salesman there quoted me $1040 OTD. So I told him I would come down there sometime this week.
A few days later I was about to go down to the Redondo store and called to confirm they had everything in stock and then the sales guy changes his story and says that was a quote for 4 wheels and tires and that if I wanted 5 of each it would be 1315. WTF???
I know I specifically said 5 tires and wheels time and time again. He even confirmed and said “Do you have a Jeep?
So I called back the Compton location and asked for my original sales guy and some how he was still not available. So I told him about the original quote of $900 for the ATs and wanted MTs instead. I was thinking it should be about 1040.
This new sales guy quotes me 1290. I asked him how gets to 1290 for the MTs from 900 for the ATs?
He said that's the price and that's it. Wow.
It is unfortunate that we have sales people like that. I would have been even more pissed off had I driven down there and they pulled this bullshit.
Quoting you a terrific price, then when your ready to buy changing the story. IE: "Oh that price was for 4 not 5" "That price does not include labor" "Mounting and balancing is extra" ....
Cliff notes: I got quoted a great price for 5 wheels and 5 tires, then when I went to go get them the story changed and the price went up significantly. Very very shady sales men at 4wheel parts.

BTW, I've come to the conclusion that we should support those business that support the Suzuki community. Spidertrax, Wheelers offroad, Petroworks all sell these steel wheels also. If your local to them the price is great. I get killed on shipping as these wheels are heavy. That’s why I went to a local source for them.
I’d now rather pay a little more and support the Mom and Pop shops than some corporate giant who doesn’t give a snot about the Suzuki off-road community.
-
i hear that.....the big auto parts store around here carry some of the stuff for my trak but i searched the phone book and found a shop that deals with zuks and traks only. its like 5 or 10 more per part but they always have it in stock... no waiting.

I was browsing through this thread and stumbled across the retread topic. Is there an on line link for this hi tek retread company? Can I safely run retreads on the highway in my Sammy?
-Adam ;D
-
For the bead locks, Trail Ready is a great company. They also sponsor the Team Trophy Challenge Washington, which I should be competing in again this year. :D
Be careful about some of the wheels you order, I know the cheap Rock Crawlers cannot take the after-market bead locks.

I am brand new to the Suzuki world so I have to drop a word here about Hawk Strictly Suzuki...I bought front knuckle rebuild kits, rear wheel bearings and seals, front and rear drive shafts, Birfield axle.....everything showed up at my door just as I was told over the phone...I live in Michigan and the shipping didn't take too long either. I really appreciate getting what I pay for and so much more when the guys at Hawk gave me a good deal on the driveshafts. Thanks Hawk i will tell others of my experiance.
I don't own a Suzuki but have been beefing up my Rhino with Sammy parts...the axles are narrowed 7" and rebuilt. Coil overs with 4 link front and rear...custom made chain drive 2:1 transfercase doubling the axles to 7.46:1 15"x8" 'D' window steelies from Discount Tire and 30"x9.50"x15" Mud Trac Radials (for now) 33" Boggers when I make some more play money The wheels shown in the picture are not the new ones it will be about 6" wider then the picture My Rhino will be the best of both worlds as I see it. ;)
