Title: 2wd tranny pic & info
Post by: Chief on October 28, 2004, 01:32:17 PM
Ok, need some 2wd tracker/sidekick pics. Also, do they just use a tailshaft housing assembly in place of the t-case?

Basically, if I removed my t-case, made some sorta block off, added a bearing, and threw a sammi t-case behind that set up, would it work????

I'm not sure how much help they'd be, but I've seen pics of 2wd trannys on eBay.

Can't help you on the tailshaft question.  When I found out the 3L30 was used on cars like the Chevette, I searched eBay for Chevette transmissions and saw a few (very cheap), but couldn't tell and couldn't find out if I could pull the tailshaft and bolt on the transfer case.

Sorry, not much help here :-/

I heard (I think) the 2wd Trackers still had a t-case. It was just a dummy t-case.
No front output.

I've heard that too from some reputable sources. But, our '94 we just sold, was a 2wd when we got it and it had no dummy case. Just a long driveshaft. i wonder if the four doors had the dummy case...
