k so my lil 1.6 just isnt cutting it. i live in the NW and too many hills and too much down shifting. lol can the 1.8 or 2.0 motors drop in these things or not.
-
not a simple drop, you would'nt want the pos 1.8 anyway.
-
I think the 2.0 will bolt right up on the 1.6 tranny. But again, there's alot of wiring and accessories to bolt on too. 1.8.... Like 89tintop said.... POS.

You might be better off looking at a V6 swap or turbo install.

There is a write up on fitting the 2ltr, try a search. It needs a lot of bits and pieces sorted including a remachined or custom fywheel.

How about a small supercharger? I used to have one that i planned on putting in an old samurai, but never did. It was the size of an alternator, and would easily fit where the AC pump is on a sidekick. It used a 4-5 groove serpentine belt, and tensioner setup just like an alternator. Man i wish i had have done it. I sold it instead. Apparently it was off a subaru from Japan.

The Chevy V6 is a tight squeeze, but everyone that's a "I-need-lots-of-power" kind of guy seems to love 'em. They're cheap & good workhorses.

With just a few performance upgrades... my 95 16V seems to run just fine for me on the street. I can pull any hill 65 or 70!!! I am doing the transfer case gears... but 65 or 70 on the high way is good enough for me!!! All i did was a tune up with calmini air filter. Spintech 2 in exhaust!

They have a 2.0 install kit for first gen kicks listed under the engines catagory, listed at 250.00 and up.

This might be a good way to go for lil Suzy, she needs a new engine.
