Title: Better rim size.
Post by: BIG DOG on February 03, 2008, 09:34:25 PM
What is the better rim size for a 31x10.5 tire?8" or 10"? The reason I ask is I have a chance to get a set of 15x10" rims with a 2" back spacing . I have planned all along to get the ford or jeep spoked rims with a 8" width. But these have come along and I wonder what they might be like?Any input will be appreciated!
Thanks!

They will be going on a 95 16V 5spd tracker with a 2" body 2" spring spacer.Thanks!

Some people run the 10" wide rims, but I am more of a fan of the 8" rim unless you are running 14" wide tires.  The problem with the wider rims is when you air down it makes it easier for the tire to pop off the bead.

What about the way the rim width effects the thread any advantage or disadvatage between 8" or 10"?

Run the 8"!! The 10" rim is probably larger than the widght off the tread on the tire

10" wide is a little to wide for a Kick. They would stick out past the fenders a bit as well. An 8" wheel is the perfect width for a 10.5" tire.

I run the 15x8 with that tire size on my 92 kick and they work great.

Great my plan was always to run 8" but these 10" came along and I was just wondering if they would work.
Thanks!
