My sidekick hit 160,000 miles and the check engine lite came on... coincidences? Is there a trip sensor at 160,000 miles? How can I reset it? It stays on constantly now. Thanks all

There is a switch under your dash to turn the light off. It comes on every 50, 70, 80, 100k, ect miles. NOTE: The switch is only on 95 and older track kicks.
There are two locations for this switch. One is right behind the plastic dash piece under the steering column. Just pop that peice off, and look for a switch. The other location is right behind the driver's side dash speaker. Take the speaker out and look behind it, to the right.
Hope this helps!

Yea, they set service intervals every so often. Just reset it and if it comes back on then you may need to get the codes read.

Has anyone heard or seen a Tracker-Kick where the "Check Engine" switch has been removed?? I Have an 89 Tracker and have looked at all the places where it is supposed to be plus all under the dash area,, no switch. Got tired of looking at the red warning so I put a piece of black tape over it..Looks better..

My 89 is the same, I never
have been able to find the
switch. so I just drive it until
it turns it's self off
I was going to have Heather
find it for me at Moab but I
forgot to ask :P
