Howdy from Kansas.
I'm new here, but not new to Samurais. I'm on my third one right now, a 1987 model, bone stock, just the way I like them. Anyway, I've seen some fastback tops that zip down the back on either side to give you access to the bed. I REALLY NEED a top like that! Mine is a ranch rig, it does a lot of chores for me on our horse ranch and I don't have a back seat in it and really need quick and easy access to the bed, for hauling hay, buckets, fence posts etc.
I've seen the Calmini one, and it doesn't have those zipper sides. Can you PLEASE tell me where I can buy a fastback top like this? Thanks so much for your help.

I was searching all over google and came across a place in England that looked like they had one, I think it was about $170 pounds. But, I have tried and tried to re-find that website and cannot for the life of me. Does anybody know about that site?

i couldn't find it any where

The fast back that is made so you can unzip the rear window, it doesn't come all the way out or anything. I'm not sure if this is the one you are talking about, but i got it from Lowrange.

thats where i saw that omg thanks...... total brain fart.

No,
The top I'm talking about went straight from the roll bar to the top of the tailgate, it didn't have any flat area on the back, and both sides of it (on the back) zipped from either side of the tailgate all the way up to the roll bar so the back of it would just flap forward and hang down straight and give you access to the whole bed.
If nobody is making this top anymore, someone should, that's a functional top for people who actually use these little trucks for work and who need access to the bed.

Monsoon 4x4. The £170 includes UK tax so it should be 17.5% cheaper. probably still expensive by US standards. Almost everything over here is more expensive and the dollar isn't very good against the pound at present.

Heres a suggestion and what I am going to do Take it to a custom boat top place and have one custom built. Had a top for my boat built a couple years ago. It turned out great and I think it was around 300 bucks. Good Luck

Hawk Suzuki used to sell the fast back tops. Not sure if they still have them as I don't see them on the web sight.

dollar to pound is around 2:1 at the moment. I would guess that the top would be around £120 without tax and UK postage so thats $240 plus shipping and any local import tax.
The boat place suggestion is a good one too, a good boat place can do fabrication, custom made glass, upholstery, all sorts of stuff.

i got a buddy the has a upholstlery shop...... didn't even think bout him

I remember that STC used to a top that you could zip the sides and rear up so that you could access the whole bed. I looked a can back style top when you looked at it. Last I heard, STC was out of business. When I replaced my top last year I was told that they had closed up shops. Possibly someone has purchased their patterns since then.

Best top used to make a nice one, but it didn't work with a roll cage. The angle from the targa bar to the back of the rig was to steep.
They do make a Windjammer setup now though.

yeah i'm gonna get one of those this summer.
