Title: Sidekick / Tracker U-joints
Post by: schaney on February 06, 2008, 05:41:10 PM

After replacing my rear u-joints with a Napa set in trying to get rid of my vibration, I noticed some posts that after market u-joints just don't last in a Suzuki.

Is there anyone with first-hand experience on longevity of Napa u-joints in a stock-1 1/2" lift, with 235 or smaller tires?  Hate to replacement them again, but I'd hate more to shread one off in the woods anytime soon.

Thanks ...

I have not found it to be true that aftermarket u joints don't last. I have found that some aftermarket U joints come with spring clip retainers which are too thick and don't seat well This can cause early failure.

I have had Napa joints in my driveshafts since last summer and no problems so far.

I think it's just in the installation. As long as they are good and free when you install them. I have napa after market it mine and no probs. Keep them lubed and away you go!

Thanks for the feedback, I did make sure the clips where well sitted, they moved freely and lubbed them good.
