Title: '93 Sidekick no high-beams and smoke signals
Post by: jess_boatman on February 10, 2008, 02:48:27 PM
I would never wish this problem on anyone, but just in case someone has experienced the same thing..
my '93 sidekick lost high-beams one night accompanied by a smell similar to a burning ballast. A few weeks later, the turn signals started clicking and buzzing; also accompanied by a burning ballast smell. The only way to stop the noise and smell was to unplug the hazard and turn signal fuses. After inspecting the wire harness, I find no burned wires. Also, the turn sig relay smells normal. What-the-heck?

It does sound like the mutli function lever. What ever you want to call the turn signal head light switch.

Bad multi-function switch. I've had the same problem and replacing the switch fixed it... I got mine from a junkyard...
