Title: Front struts
Post by: pdasilva on February 14, 2008, 06:10:05 AM
I have a set of front Old man Emu struts from a sidekick 5 door would they work on a 2.7xl7 2002 model?
Also would the coil spacers from a sidekick 5 door fit?

Yes, the struts will work.  OME redesigned the struts for the grand vitara about 12 months ago to include a bump stop spacer on the strut itself because the Grand Vitara's allowed for more uptravel (somehow) than the sidekicks, and the struts could possibly bottom out.  It would only happen if they were jumped.  Anyway, up until that point, the N103S was the strut for all sidekicks, trackers, and grand vitara's.

The coil spacers will "fit" the same as in a sidekick/tracker.

Speaking of jumping....

How can I re-enforce things if I want to do a little hopping around?

I don't have much experience with jumping these, but you would definitely need a strut tower brace.

Mike Hagen is the king of jumping these I think.
