Title: Who's done the Trackick TransferCase gear swap??
Post by: Rodzilla on February 17, 2008, 02:39:11 AM
I have some RockMonster 4.24 gears coming and debating whether to tackle the job myself or not. I know you have to grind the inside of the case a bit to make room but how is the overall job? I have a good Suzuki mechanic here in Costa Rica and labor is pretty cheap in this part of the world, so if its a hassle for the average backyard mechanic then I'll pass it on to him.  At the same time I'm going to do a rebuild kit on the trans and add a Centerforce clutch. Can't wait to go crawling and not have to ride the clutch/brake so much ;D. Thanks in advance for any input.

I had a Sidekick Factory Service Manual that showed the break down / assembly of the t-case, and a friend with a shop of tools, so I decided to try it myself. It is time consuming but it was worth the experiance. If I had it to do again, and someone to do it for a reasonable price, I would have them do it.
