Title: Good Lift ....Hard Ride
Post by: ultra-rebel on February 19, 2008, 07:42:22 AM
Well she's out of the shop!! I used XJ springs and cut them to size. They worked good for a nice lift but are way to stiff. I am going to have a new set twisted at a spring shop In Edmonton untill then I am waiting for a set of Jeffs spacers.

I do not recomend using XJ springs, reminds me of the old days when I was riding a ridgid chopper.

fill up your gas tank and toss all your bush gear in the back and see how it rides and sits before you give up on those springs.  i use xl7 coils and mustang shocks in the rear of my 2dr, ride is very harsh if everything is empty but great with some weight.  it sucks when you load up for a weekend in the woods to find out that the rear sits 2inches lower than the front because of soft lift springs....  anyway, that is simply my thoughts on this, it's up to you.

I agree. If I have my zuk full of people (read 3 passengers), my 1.5" lift disappears.

what all did you have to do, i have a 90 tracker and i want it to set higher but i don't really want to get to much money involved in it.

I'm going to be trying a set of YJ springs from a 4 cylinder, I'm pretty sure they're a lighter spring rate than the heavy XJ, and even the V6 YJ's.
