Title: hood vents
Post by: johnjx on February 21, 2008, 11:22:47 PM
just was wondering. i know there are factory vents on the side twards the windshield that allows heat and smoke from mud or water on exuast and engine. but i was wondering if anyone out there had any idea's on how to make home made hood vents, or got a picture of any or somthing. somthing to give my  ride a newer look but also lets that excess heat out as well

I'm planning on just buying some off rockyroad if it becomes heat is still a problem. Right now I have cut some tin to route air from the lower grill in the bumper guard into the radiator. It seems to keep the temps down nicely but doesn't change the appearance any.

Davesport (www.davesport.com) makes them.  A Sammy in the club put them on, looks pretty nice.  :)

Try any hot rod/street rod shop. They can punch louvers into your sheet metal for you.

On edit, I forgot the R in your.

I use those as well to vent the engine compartment. Work great. www.flickr.com/photos/bentparts.
