I'd like to add some decent fog lights to my '01 Tracker, but the ones available locally are of questionable quality and effectiveness. The previous owner had installed a cheap set that are desperately in need of replacement (I don't even use them because you can't tell whether they are on or not). I have a pretty good drive to work and have to go regardless of weather conditions. In the winter, I put a lot of miles on in the dark (early morning & evening) and better lighting up front would be nice when the weather gets bad.
Does anyone have any suggestions? ???

i've always been a fan of driving and fog lamps.
i'm also cheap, so ... jcwhitney has round lamps. 100w. very bright. used to be 39.95/pr.
need a relay to run them.
fog lamps should be lensed so the light goes out and down. otherwise the scatter back makes them useless. amber lenses.
never saw any of those rectangular ones that were worth it.

In my experience, most folks cannot tell the difference between fog lites and driving lites. ALmost always used illegally on highway. Law here deems them same as brights, adn must be dimmed, even if they are properly aligned and cause no problems for oncoming.

Fog lights are not a problem with the authorities around here when properly installed and aimed.
I'll check into what JC Whitney has to offer - I'd forgotten about them.
Thanks,
