Title: auto trans t-handle

Hey I took off mt t-handle on my auto trans 96 tracker to fix the little red indicator and I cant get the handle back on right???? can get it on but button to put it in rev doesnt work . Anybody know the secret to how to put it on right?? manual doesnt help

do a search for transmission at Ack's FAQ (see link in my signature).

One of the resulting links from this search is the automatic transmission section of the '96 Tracker Factory Service Manual.  15 pages in is an exploded diagram of the shifter mechanism along with teardown instructions which might be of help to you.

The trick is to screw it on farther until it works right, this is the adjustment,
put the screw into it each time you try it so the handle doesn't move up
and down as you push the button, be patient and you will get it right.
