Right on! I recognize some of those areas... Where's Fremont point in reference to Christmas Valley dunes? Is it that fire lookout that is NE of there?

Fremont Point is south and a little west. Fremont Point is south of Silver Lake above Thompson Reservoir and overlooks Summer Lake from Winter Rim. We had a good time. The pics of the jeep getting stuck were taken out in the cabin lake area. The drifts melted and then froze. Once you broke through the crust it was similar to rock salt.

Sweet Pic! Looks like the south end towards the paisley side of Summer Lake. I will try to make the trip to Central Oregon with you guys in November. hopefully it won't be doing this!!!!!

Are you going have a base camp or camp along the way! We normally camp along the way unless the weather is real bad. My buddy with the jeep lives in Gilchrist now so we stayed there.
