Title: Fighting a code 15 (Coolant Temp High)
Post by: whitfield on April 05, 2008, 02:43:39 AM
But the truck runs noraml temp!  New Radiator / New Thermostat.

My problem memics the one in this thread:

But no solution was given.   I'm hoping to check the sensors tomorrow.  I know one looked white and fuzzy when I changed the thremostat.

This is on a 1995 2dr 1.6L 16v Auto 4wd.

This truck has (3) temp sensors.  I have installed a new temp sensor for the dash gauge (front of water outlet housing) as a precaution.

Reset codes and CEl code 15 will return in about 30 miles.

Sounds like an open circuit sensor.

2.5K ohms at 65-70 deg. F

The same temp sensor in my Rock Buggy (1994 1.6L 16v) gave a similar reading so I believe this is a correct value.

I'll check the circuit next week when I get the spare sensors.

Truck got a new owner today even with the CEL and code 15.

I've signed up to replace the temp sensor and look into it further.
