Title: What 4cyl Engine Transmission swap for Samurai????
Post by: bashzuk on April 09, 2008, 09:55:06 PM
Ok what engine transmission swaps have people done and still used the stock t-case from a samurai
I'm building an offroad race rig. and I want more power but I want to stay with a 4 cyl if possible.
I was thinking of a nissan engine / transmission one from a north to south power car.
Like the 240sx or an older nissan/datsan maxima.
Anyone have any ideas of what else might work or has worked in the past.
Have fabrication for mounts at my disposal so let me know what people think.
OH and must be from a mass produced car that is fairly easy to find.
Thank You,
Bash

What do you think about the 2.0 suzuki engine? Not sure if it will provide what you need... but it is cool to stay suzuki!!! :D

guess I forgot to mention that it really would be nice if the engines only went for 400 or less. :)

Mazda Rotary
VW Diesel

Ok new question what years where there 4 cyl with rear wheel drive cars that are japanese.
I'm looking for a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission that is easy to find and fairly cheap to buy.
and that makes better horse power than the samurai.

I'm thinking now maybe a rear wheel drive corolla or celica.
or something along these lines.
I would really like to give 2 dogs ink a run for his money in racing :)
