Hey guys, I have been running the calmini 3" lift for about 6 months and now the front has sagged quite a bit. Has anybody else had this prob. I dont have a winch or any heavy loads up front. when looking at the front the wheels are / \ .
thanks

Mine did the same thing. What I did was elongate the lower strut mount hole to get my camber back to spec. Been fine ever since.

two years later with the winch bumper, (But no winch). I've just started to notice the front droop. It could be that who ever installed the front coils chopped off a couple of coils. I've heard of people doing this to "smooth out the ride", when you don't run the heavy stuff up front.
I'll probably just add some small puck spacers if it starts bothering me too much. that would correct your camber back to where it was to.

If the springs sagged alot, try these.
They may be alittle too big for the front but would work on the rear.

Suzuki Sidekick 1.5 inch Coil Spacers. Looking to lift your kick just enough to put some larger meats on? These coils spacers may be the ticket. Easy to install, constructed of UHMW polyethelyn. These are made from scratch for the Sidekick, they are not a spacer for another application modified.

Heres where to get a set of spacers for the front. They are 3/4 inch tall and should give you back about 1+ inches of lift for the front.

Mine did that also and I do have the front bumper and winch.
I just moved the balljoints from being mounted on top of the control arm to the bottom of it.
Straighten up the front end just right.

Remember, when you cut a spring shorter,
you will increase it's PSI rate, and if you add
more coils it will soften it's spring rate, my guess
would be that Calmini used the same rate as
the stock spring, but had it wound longer with
more coils and now the spring is under more
stress that it softens more than it should and
begins to sag, that or they had cheep springs
made and they are loosing their temper and
softening up after being used for a while

I even have all the Calimini skid plats and stabalizer in the front. So it is weighted really good.
It's been close to two year sence I moved the ball joints and nothing else has changed.
I'll also mention that I've done a ton of dune wheeling with it. When you drive the dune its with speed. You hit a hill fast and hard, you can feel the suspention bottoming out and then fly over the top air born, suspention totally extended.
Infact the paint is pealing of like crazy from the coils. The coils touch eachother before the stops are ever come into contact. At those points where they touch there is no paint.

Yeah, Calmini seem to think coils make great bumpstops ??? What's with that? You'd think for the dollars and all the other bits they put in the kit that they could've done something about the bumpstops. :(

I already have the balljoints mounted under the control arms and I didn't cut the coils :o. the springs are just sagging badly. I do alot of my wheeling in the sanddunes. I might call Calmini and see what Steve has to say.I'll keep you posted.
