Title: What's too much lift???
Post by: Chief on October 14, 2004, 02:54:05 PM
I have the 1 1/8" RRO spacer lift, and thought about adding 2" Jeep spacers to the mix, and some how securing the coil into the top part of the bucket, so they won't come loose/pop out/whatever.

I'll net a little over 3" of lift, is this too much? I plan on dropping the front strut upper mount about 2-2.5". I don't wanna kill the CV's in the front

3.25" of spacer is gonna give like 4"+ lift, which won't be good at all for the CV's :-/

the 2" spacers are what a lot of people seem to be going with... might wanna ask Wild about what he's running, I think it's more.

2" front 3" back
gives 3" all around

4" body lift for 7" total

if you built brackets to lower the front axle houseing down then you could get more lift without worrying about the CV so much.

Too much lift depends on what you are trying to do.  Playing in the hills is different then the Low lands of Flordia / Lousiana.

My 4-door on 34's gets right tippy on the Hills... hope it shows how hard I was sucking the seat in the pics.  Still trying to pull the stitching material out of my arse.

I was trying to cross a dug out spot at an angle half way up a 45 deg + hill.  Going for the harder line when the front end started reaching for the sky.

BUT

I am still on too small a tire for the ruts around home.  Mostly flat swamp land.
