I have a 1984 SJ410, which I bought in 1988. It had been a rent a car in Hawaii. My problem is it's been sitting for five years. It wouldn't start one morning and I had a Ranger I could use so I just let it sit. Well I finally decided to work on it. Seems the fuel pump has taken a dump.
Having trouble locating one. Anyone have some good parts sources for these things?

Hawk Strictly Suzuki - 1(888)SAMURAI will have parts for your SJ.

Bewley is right, Hawk is your best bet for ordering SJ-410 parts inside the states.
I recently converted mine over to electric.

spider trax also has replacement parts for this.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but how 'bout some more info on the "electric " SJ Drone? I'd really like to check that out.

Thanks everyone, but I am in far northern California and smogging laws get more strict every year, so I am a little afraid to make many modifications to the engine. Maybe switching over to electric wouldn't affect that though.

Actually, I meant the Fuel Pump, not the entire rig. Not that I haven't looked at it. If I had enough spare time to do the work it would be fun to drop a 45 or 50hp electric engine in the front end and a diesel generator in the rear...
If you want a write up on putting the electric fuel pump in let me know and I'll post some pictures.

Well got my Ranger truck smogged for another two years this morning. It was touch and go.
So that gives me a little wiggle room to to get the Suki fired up again. I've located a replacement pump finally. A little pricey but hey. Going to start by cleaning out the tank and lines. Don't want to foul the carburetor, it was only a year old when she died. But with the new smog laws in California I am a little afraid even with everything I do she won't pass.
