OOPS... :o
sorry Jeff1997, I would have dropped your name if I knew you also did the 1"ers!!! ;)
-
He can even make custom sizes. :) I would get a 3/4" front spacer and a 1" rear, that worked just perfect on my Tracker.
-
I acually have 2-1" and 2-1.2" ones laying here. Same price

That sounds like a good deal. I would suggest this route! LOL!

I recommend jeff1997 spacers. They are good quality.

I will send you a pm Jeff.

I made my own spacers out of some pressure treated wood i had in the back yard. had them for a while and they work great! if you want to go really cheap this is what i did. all i had to do was trace them out using the rubber peace from the top of the coil spring. then cut them out! ;D

Where are you located??? Just want to make sure I never drive behind you  Good luck with the wood spacers ???

Each to their own but come on wooden spacers! This is the reason that so many States and Provinces are making it more and more difficult to put in any type of lifts.

I can't for the life of me think of a way that wooden spacers could be any worse than my crap, hemorrhaging Rocky Road ones. What, when they get old, maybe they'll split and fall out? So you sit a little funny and your alignment is out for your ride home. Ooooooo, big deal.
You know, Morgan still makes their entire FRAMES out of ash.
-
But what if on the way home it splits and falls out causing you to sit a little funny and your alignment being off causes you to have a momentary loss of control ?????????What are the ramifications of that?We all need to try and keep our road rigs as safe as possible .It gives the tree huggers and pot bangers one less thing to use against us. But like I said each to their own.

If that would cause you a momentary loss of control, get off the damned road. You shouldn't have a license. Hitting an average pothole would be more jarring.
-

You're right.
- Go with a double layer of pressure treated 3/4" plywood. Much more stable.
- Screw some 1/2" pipe strap around the spring to keep everything in place - even in full articulation.
We may be on to something here... ::)

In the famous words of Jeff Foxworthy, You might be a redneck if......... Come on guys, WOOD spacers?? Offroaders have a bad enough name without cops having to reconstruct the splinters of a wood spacers that gave way at 55 mph.
-
ok well first. The spacers i made work Great and i have had them for about 3 months and if they do split and fall out while im driving its only a inch and a half that my tracker would sag IN ONE CORNER!! then i would just make four new ones.
second. i was just telling you guys of a cheap EZ way to get some lift on a track and it will be me who has to deal with it if they do fall out witch i dought they will! 8)
-
This could be a good thing...
With all the talk in the media about going green and all...
Natural auto parts????
The wave of the future!
:P
-
OK I take back my comments. You are just going GREEN. Al Gore would be so proud ;)
-
Okay, the "green" angle taints it, but otherwise it's a kinda brilliant solution. And, I'll say it again, way better than Rocky Road's pricey crap.

they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and i can imagine what a lot of yours must be...
those are just squishing out!
i put jeff's in last season and they still look brand new.
are you gonna try some "green" ones?

Well, is was just a joke... ::)
...But honestly, it's conceivable that the spacer COULD out last the metal around it.
Let's face it the TracKicks aren't that beefy.
PT lumber is guaranteed 20 years. Is a Tracker? ???
There's plenty of guys driving around with 2x8 bumpers!
My dad has a 1922 Model T Ford Truck with the original wood wheels. They do just fine. ;)
Like I said, it's just jokes...
But there are some who say ANY modification beyond the manufacture's original design is unsafe ::)
I'd still go with jeff1997's spacers.
Oh, and I'm not so sure PT is so green!

The only thing you could have done to reduce the squish would have been to install the spacers between the rubber isolators and the cups. They still would have squished, but not quite as bad. I had some RRO spacers and the ones they sent me weren't even 1" tall!
-
Who took the pic of my Sidekick before I junked the RR spacers and put in some REAL quality ones??

No idea, but they look a lot like one side of mine did when I pulled it off. :D
-
I say rock the wooden spacers >:D Paint them black and noone would ever know... unless you say so on a public forum :-X
-
I must admit I work with woods everyday and there is wood harder than the urethane that is in my spacers ??? It may just work!!! I'll fire up the CNC router tomorrow

Be careful though. If someone sets your car on fire, they are going to burn faster then straight poly ones.
:D

This is why mine will be steel, along with my body lift spacers. After all, I am a machinist, not a carpenter.
I do, however admire a guy for using whats available to him.
-
hell ya! like every one said "im just goin green"
