Title: 5 Spd tranny lube.
Post by: BIG DOG on April 28, 2008, 08:44:35 AM
Does anyone know what the required amount  of fluid is in a 1995 5spd 16V tracker for both the tranny and the transfercase?
Thanks!

RHodge I was wondering how much so I would know how much to buy.But there are other issues    GL-4 is recomended they say not to use GL-5 as it will attack the yellow metals in the tranny.I can get Motomaster fully synthetic with a GL-5 ,M-1 rating for $9.99 a Liter. Or a motomaster semi synthetic GL-4 ,GL-5,M-1 rating ( not sure how it can be both as they are suppose to have different additives)for $7.99.The proper gm GL-4 stuff is $30.00 a liter  :o What are you guys using and what are your results?

I have your vehicle.

Tranny: 1,5l
t-case: 1.7l

I'm using Amsoil synthetic manual tranny/gear lube 75W90 GL-4.  I think there are a few other synthetic GL-4's out there but I forget . . . The Amsoil seems fine, but I have to mail order it.
