Does anybody have a idea what could go on these hi beams.I dont no when they went down,I do know they wernt there the other night.the hi beam indicater comes on and the lights go completly out???is there a fuse or something im lookin for..thanks again guys

never heard of both high beams going out at the same time, but when your high beams go, it usually means that your high beam in the bulb has burnt out, what are u driving, in the newer cars, there is a relay in the engine compartment, in the big fuse block, it'll state 'high beams' I would pull a bulb first... do u know how to see if a bulb is bad?

Black hat?

I would say if the indicator is coming on you may need new bulbs. Take a test light and check for power at the bulb

perhaps relay went bad(wearing black hat).
unlikely both filaments went at the same time.

I had one hi beam on one side of the car and on the other side a low beam. Dealer had never seen any thing like it so after a hundred bucks. They changed out both the bulbs all was fine after that later on a mechanic friend says water in the electrical cause's strange prob like that (no more swimming for my kick)

me too but its because of corrosion

Its a 92 tracker.Whats a black hat?And where is the relay located on a 92?I can feel it where getting closer to a fix.its kinda ok about the high beams-i went out and bot some light force off road lights, you can see thru trees with them puppies on.still need yhr high beams.

ignore all this- i looked thru my manual(chilton's p.o.s.) and see no reference to relays.
you have checked fuses?
ignore the black hat.

ok there is no power going to the hi beam????what next??
-
Check a manual for the wiring diagram or follow the wire along it,s course if you can,t get to a manual. It could be anywhere from the fuse box,the switch,or a fault in the wiring in between. My ber is on the switch, but I am usualy full of shit.

Whats a black hat?
Obscure joke. Never mind. Not helpful.

If it's a Canadian vehicle then it could be the daylight running light module. I had to replace two. When mine broke the first time the wasn't any high beams and the second time the wasn't any headlights at all.
