AND BE HONEST! BEFORE anyone showed you where the hood popper was on a Tracker-'Kick, how long did it take evryone to figure out where it was. Are the Sammys in the glove box, too?
-
My neighbor had a Kick long before I ever got mine...I saw him pop the hood ;) Sure impressed the dealer when I went right for it on the lot ;)
-
I was a towtruck driver and had to show alot of poeple.  Even the ones at the usecar lot where I bought mine ;D
I don't remember how I figured it out. I think I checked the book on the first one or maybe I just heard it somewhere.
kind've like how you find out where the put the filler caps on the 55 chevys (behind the left taillight) ;D
That is a very good question.
Makes ya think way back when ;)

my mom had an 89ltd when i was little..it had a yellow button in the glove box to pop the hood..every car since then i have always checked the glove box =)

56' chevy's ;)

They have moved the bonnet release on the new Grand Vitara's to under the drivers side.
I always thought of it as a Suzuki trait being in the glove box.
The Jimny still has it in the glove box.
-
Yep Sami's are in the glove box, last place I ever thought of looking. :)
-
I was completely surprised when I was looking at my Tracker initially, and the seller popped the hood open and the switch was in the glovebox. I was like :o, and then I bought it, based solely on the hood switch :(
;D

I thought it was done for security for convertibles.

Ooops :o me bad
I'm not much of a chevy guy.
I would've known it when I saw one again ;)

in the glove box
IN THE GLOVEBOX :o
All-right, now I can get some work done ;D
OK, when I first got the thing I had to look in the owner's manual to find the release :-[ It's a good thing they didn't put the opener for the glovebox under one of the seats :)

You got the manual out of the glovebox, but didn't notice the handle? ;D

At least we're all humble enough to admit at one time or another, we couldn't find the f*cking thing. Sure am glad that Real Red Wagon and Lil' Red Sammi got their Zuks before me, or I would've looked like a real dumpus at least once. I'm assuming a number of salesman have been mortified by that release. Now, what is the rubber block on the top of the sammi windshield for...?

I suspected it might be in the glovebox, but didn't see or feel it. (I have an old Beetle.) Took out the book, then had to get a flashlight to find it. I don't know how I missed feeling it there.
I also got caught by that '56 Chevy bit. (It got 5MPG & was on fumes.) Finally some kid on a bike showed us where it was hidden. <g>

at least with the vitara, the hood popper is at the top of the glove box, so even if you stuff as much junk as you can in the glove box, you can some how still manage to open the hood.
but with a sierra/sammy, the popper is at the back of the glove box, where it can be very concealed with junk of all sorts.
i knew a guy who had a sammy, wasn't really a car person either, now his sammy was just a junk collection agency on wheels, with his glove box being no exception.
well one day, he had engine troubles, no water in the radiator, so it was over heating. he's never opened a hood in his life, let alone trying to find the popper for a suzi one. he was at it a good hour or something before he finally rang someone. and even that someone couldn't get to it with out emptying the whole car to find it in the glove box.
pretty funny.

The dealer proped it open and I took note.

I looked at new Trackers back in 1990, but bought a Camaro.  When I bought my 90 last year I couldn't find the opener so I looked in the glove compartment for the manual.  I saw the opener and remembed back to 1990. I guess I'm not getting that old if I can still remember 14 years ago!

That's the antenna for Onstar, or was it
that Sattelite radio ???
