Title: timeing problem

i replaced my distributor shaft today and now it dosnt run?????1.went to tdc-2.i marked the cap where #1 is-3.pointed the rotor towards the mark i made earlier on for #1 wire.I even went as far as checking the timing belt notches under the timeing cover??????   what did i miss?????im lost

Did you put the gear on the shaft 180 deg out? Usually the gear only goes on one way because of the cuts in the gears are not even numbered.

Is that because there is a notch on the shaft?is there a mark somewhere on the shaft or anywhere else im missing?does the rotor only go on one way?

ok i checked if there was power coming out of the coil with the key on and there wasnt.does this mean anything guys?

Probably not if its EFI. Have you checked for a spark at the plugs?
