That blue paint's gotta be worth 5 mph, Nice work! BTW, how are your cv's and rear axles holding up to those 34" LTB's?
-
That is what I was wondering.Nice work!I love building instead of buying. Not only does it save money,it makes the rig that much more enjoyable knowing you did it yourself.
-
hahahaha Yea I think the blue was good for 10 mph...
I just dusted the bracket with paint to keep it from rusting and help it show up in pics. The axle is coming right back out after the race to get new seals. I'll add a second coat of Blue and see if can squueze out another few MPH.
For the race I ran 31" TSL's. Everything is holding up fine except for the Strut towers. I am now wishing I didn't do the strut mount flip. I am concerned the struts may be bottoming before the bump stops. Better / taller bump stops, are on the way.
As far as the 34's, I haven't wheeled it that hard yet, but so far they are fine. I hope to get a few steering issues (Strut towers and alignment) worked out. Then I'll replace the front fenders and prep for paint.
I might lock the front so I can wheel some more difficult places with out compromising drivability.

You shouldn't have a problem with just the strut mount flip, you shoul still have an inch or more travel left in the strut after it comes hard up against the bumpstop. Those towers just aren't braced across at the top.
