HELP NEEDED!
How do I remove the steering wheel components from the steering column post. The attached pictures show what I want to remove. I want to remove these components (Ignition, Turn signal, Windshield wiper assembly) and put them into another Tracker. The pictures are from a 1990 2 door Tracker.
Please advise ASAP!
Thanks,
Tim

The phillips head bolts/screws shown on the piece that is in your pics are what holds the turn signal/wiper switch assembly on the steering column assembly.
The ignition switch comes off by removing the 2 round headed bolts on top of the ignition assembly (the bolts have no slots in them, so you have to use a flat chisel and tap the side of the head to loosen the bolts) so the ignition assembly can be slid off the end of the steering column. You can use regular hex headed bolts (metric, of course) to resecure it on the other trackick.
Oh, also, the manual tranny igntion assembly is different from the auto tranny one. The auto tranny one has a cable attached to it that is connected to the shifter assembly. To get the cable off, there is a little E-clip (IIRC) that has to be removed that holds the end of the cable on the assembly.....it is pretty self-explanitory when you look at it.

Thank you very much, it worked!!!
I wonder why they use bolts like that to hold the ignition assembly on the steering column.
Thanks again, it is appreciated!
