what's the biggest tires that can be ran on sj and lj axles without being prone to failiure? I have lj10 or 20 axles with 5.38:1 ish in the rig now and have lj80 4.55:1 as spares. thinking maybe a locker would be nice
as a reference, I drove for 3 years a tracker with 33s and no major problems so I know how to drive with my vallet in mind

The LJ80 diffs are reported to be quite weak. The LJ guys told me not to go over 31s and a 1300cc engine. The 410 diffs are stronger but the CVs aren't as strong as the 413/Sammy. Good news is that the 413/Sammy CVs can be fitted. Supposedly the narrow body 413 shafts can be fitted to the 410 axles too and are stronger. When I put the LJ diffs in my 410 axles I think (it was a long time ago!) that I kept the 410 shafts, I wasn't too sure about the fit of the 413 parts.
Have you still got drums on the front?
