Well I was out wheeling the other day and bent the cross member that holds the back of the a arm. By bending this it pulled the front a arm mount back as well. I would like to build something that is a little stronger than what's there as I tend to be hard on things ;D I was wondering if anyone here has built a cross member and could post up a few pics. I searched the site but the only thread that had any info the pics are long gone, any help would be appreciated
Here are a couple pictures of mine

You need a skid plate. A skid plate will let you ride up over obstacles instead of letting them snag on the underside.

That's great advice right there. That's like telling someone they need a snorkle AFTER they hydrolock their engine!

It wasn't meant to come across that way. I meant that a skidplate is a better and simpler solution than just beefing up the crossmember.
Oh and I know about hydrolocked engines :( :( I did buy a snorkel afterwards ::)

i've been watching this thread, as i have no skid plate or other protection on my kick, 'cause i've been concerned about doing what you have done.
obviously, you have some repairs to make, and i hope you will report on how you approach this.
i'm trying to put together some brace between the front a-arm bushing mounts and the cross member to help protect the diff. cap (and mabe be a mount point for a skid pan) and be a bit of a rockslider thing. i'm trying to avoid the skid pan, as in the past i found it a pain during servicing.
also something like that to cover the transfer tail piece.
judging from the obvious markings i've collected underneath, it's amazing to me that my muffler, etc. hasn't been ripped out!.
i often trail alone, so i crawl.....

I will be adding a front truss kit from calmini, and one of there front skid plates. I use my Tracker in all types of different terrain including crawling rocks. I have been meaning to put a skid plate on it since I built it... well now it's getting one. As far as the cross member goes I will will try to straighten it first, if it don't look like it wants to come out nicely I will cut it out and fab up something a little stronger
