I have a 1993 4X4 three speed Automatic, 1.6, 8 valve SOHC.
1St off...I am a newbie!!!! So please be fair!
I don't know the Transfer case ratio, nor the tranny gear ratio, stock tires, how many hotdogs I have eaten which may add drag to the overall weight, nor the the RPM when I am at a 73 degree incline with only 16 lbs of pressure in my tires.
I am only trying to find out the stock ratio for the above named year and model tracker.
I purchased a used Front diff, because at the time I did not have a skid plate. Well I cracked the rear "BELL" of the front diff and replaced it with another, but I notice it doesn't seem right. I was told I must have purchased a Manual front diff instead of a Auto. Well someone just asked me what ratio I have. I have no idea what, or how to find that out. I have a Chilton, but it just gives tranny specs, not diff specs.

i think you would get a better response if you had posted this in the Main Forum and not the DIY section

If you use the search function there are several threads about this. They were very helpful to me,I have the same set up you have, but I cant remember the ratio.4.?.

Thank you guys, I have been here for a while, but I usually just read posts, not "Post" them. I will try to use the search more often.

posted in your other post, but for the future here goes.
First you need to be able to see the teeth of the R&P (just take the third out)
Count the ring gear teeth
Count the pinion gear teeth
divide the ring gear by the pinion gear and whammo, there is your ratio.
Its a safe bet that manual sidekicks are 5.12 and autos are 4.62
