Title: samurai service manual

will the manual for a 1988 work for my 1987 samurai.

and when it states to use 75w90 oil can you 80w90 with no effects.  i live in texas so it gets really hot here and it is hard to find 75w90 oil

Depends what "it" is.  The tranny, axles, and tcase all use gear oil.  But on any of them you put enough oil in until it runs out the fill hole.  Your manual should tell you the capacity on each thing.

There are slight differences in the 88 and the 88.5 Sami's, some styling diff's, larger D-shaft flanges and a differently plumbed brake system, and a different 5th gear ratio are the only thing's that are different.
