Rock-Steady 4.5" Combo kit or the Calmini 3" suspension with maybe a 2" body lift, which do you prefer? Please speak from expierence.
-
The rock steady lift rides better, but it is only 1.5 inches of suspension lift. The calmini is 3 full inches of suspension lift and a very complete kit.
If I was gonna wheel it alot I would get the calmini kit
-
the nice on calminis is later you can get the shackle reverse for a complete 5" of lift
-
Dummy me forgot to state that I was installing the lift on a Tracker. Sorry.
-
I have the Calmini 3 suspension lift on a '92 4dr sidekick.
In a perfect world the calmini kit would have the OME struts and springs, shocks are a toss up on the kits so you could get some better gas shocks, and the rest of the parts are best with Calmini.
I haven't heard to much lately but you can ask Calmini if they have a spring rate closer to OMEs' which come with the RockSteady lift
-
Thanks for the info rjkick.
-
PS - you can order the OME struts separately. Not sure if they're better than the Calmini versions.

Much better!

And at the moment the longest travel strut for the Zuk. Calmini is coming out with a long travel strut but no idea when and they have noo info on when.
OME has the better struts and springs currently which makes the hybrid suspension lift more expensive than a complete kit by any manufacturerer

Has anybody on the board tried out the Rock-Steady lift yet?

Ah, my mistake. I was thinking of the Zuki Nation lift as I didn't recognize the name. I should have double checked.

Has anyone tried running 89 Hyundai Pony 4WD wagon struts up front? I read on another forum that they will bolt up if you remove the coil spring seat (Hyundai has a true MacPherson strut whereas Suzuki uses a modified setup where the spring is separate from the strut). I also read that they are 1.5 or 2" longer than stock so I'd like to see someone try this!
-
so try it out and let us know!

What is the link to the other board write up?
