Title: aisin hub gaskets
Post by: xoloski on June 21, 2008, 05:48:10 AM
I'm rebuilding my front end and need a set of aisin hub gaskets, and wheel bearings,
where should I look for these? Suzuki dealer? aftermarket?
where would you buy these?

Thanks,

I would give Hawk Suzuki (http://www.hawksuzukiparts.com) a call.  As for the hub, if anything I just throw a little silicone sealer on them and call it good.

Your local auto parts store could probably get them for you next day as well.

You can make a set of gaskets for your Asin hubs with gasket material.  Most parts stores sell it by the sheet - which will make more than the two that you need!

Set the face of the hub on the sheet and gently tap the top of the hub casting with a deagblow hammer or rubber mallet to impress the face of the hub into the gasket material.  Use an exacto-knife to cut the gasket along the impression.

Cheap and you don't have to wait for the guy in the brown truck... Plus, it's not as messy or "hit-and-miss" as silicone sealant.

I hope that this helps!

I ordered a set of four, enough to do the entire vehicle, today from Jim at Petro Works.
Had a great conversation about parts from the Suzuki mother company.
The gaskets were about $5 each, which is feel if well worth not having to use or remove RTV.
