Hi all,
I just did a re & re on a Sammy with a Twin cam and now we have starting issues that weren't there before. Now when the engine is cold it struggles to turn over and pops and sputters. When it does finally start it has a major bog or hesitation immediately when you hit the throttle. Once it warms up it runs great.
I checked the timing, Fuel pressure, and fuel pump voltage. I retraced all the wiring and went over every ground. It ran great before so no parts or sensors were changed we only removed it to paint and do a clutch.
I'm thinking O 2 sensor or Map but I don't want to buy parts without confirmation as I am a little un-familiar with this engine.
Any ideas?

Might be a Timing Advancement issue. Once the vehicle warms up the Timing is set properly. I ran into the opposite problem with a full size Bronco where once the engine warmed up it wouldn't start properly as the timing advanced to far.

Cool, I didn't think of that! I'll give it a shot thanks!

Sounds like something didn't get hooked back up when it went back in.
Retrace all the sensor wires and make sure the hoses are on right. I don't
know if this engine has a MAP or a MAF but make sure the MAF isn't in backwards
or the MAP isn't missing it's hose or that it's is connected to after the throttle
vacuum source.
Good Luck

Yeah there was some issues with the hoses going into the Map. My buddy will be visiting next weekend and I'll check them out and go over all the wiring yet again.
Thanks for the help!
