im in the middle of doing my body lift, more info and pics later ;D
-
sweet!
Good luck 8)
-
Awesome!! keep us updated.
-
hwo did u guys raise your body from the frame
-
i had a big piece of wood on a floor/trolley jack either side of my vitara, jacking the sills. i did this on both sides, and lifted the body evenly to prevent body studs from bending.
then, when i had enough room, i put 4 scissor jacks on the chassis rails to lift the body. 2 where the back tyres are, and the other two where the firewall is. i also kept the trolley jacks in place also.
watch for anything that might catch or pull out.

ok its over half done, i gots pics but i need some one to up load them

how big is the body lift your putting in? 2" or 3"?
i have a 3", and it took about half a day to put in.
is your kick a manual, or auto?
-
3" and ive got abotu 4 hours of work put in it so far
-
dude, your quick with the reply.
are you getting any sleep tonight/today or what?
and what about your shifters? have you extended them?
-
Hey man, check your messages! :)
-
did you make your own body lift or was it froma supplier ?
looking good :-)
-
you can easily make your own.
IMHO, solid blocks are the only way to go, even though a lot of people use the budget box section type/method.
-
made min, 3" steel tubing
-
thanks explosivo for resizing the picsa
-
Mine is made out of heavy box section tubing, when I went to have them made they asked me what I wanted to do with it, I explained and they said that it was far too strong for this application. So I used it ;D And it works fine, took a collision at a speed of about 50mph with the bumper mounted to the blocks and I didn't bent the mounts (just almost everything else around it).
The car was financially total loss, fixed it for $300 got around $1600 for it and bought a nice winchbumper and lift kit for it ;D
