Title: Been a while
Post by: da_mtg_man on July 10, 2008, 03:53:50 AM
Hey guys, It's been a while since I've been around. This damned economy has me working 16hr days just to get the bills paid.
I had a post about 3-4 months ago about my Sammy's fuel system. It keeps stalling almost like vapor lock. I've changed everything including filter, check valve, and fuel pump. Last night I dropped the tank looking for an internal sock filter but I don't see one so I am replacing the 3 rubber fuel line hoses. Is there anything else I should do before putting the tank back in?
I pulled the line going to the carb and the carb is staving for fuel and I can't figure out why.

When you get it back together try driving it with the gas cap off and see if it is a venting problem and go from there!

Man, that would be a real good news / bad news scenero for real. Good news is, I changed my gas cap and now it runs great.  Bad news is, I replaced everything else first at a cost of several hundred $'s and plenty of smelly gas soaked clothes and skinned knuckles!

Tried it, I drove it with the gas cap off, I re-routed the fuel line away from the head thinknig it was vapor locking. I was told there may be a sock filter in the tank that was glogged but I don't see one in there.

I found my original post on the matter.
