Post by: Trackin_Tracker33 on July 14, 2008, 08:01:22 PM
I have just installed the RockyRoad +2'' body lift. Does anyone have pictures of stock bumper relocater brakets for the 2'' body lift (front and rear)?   home made or bought     I have done plenty of searching with little result
                                                                                            Thanks

The back is real easy. Just get 3 pieces of 2x3" tubing in 2" long sections. Drill a hole through the middle of each and put the bumper on with the top 3 bolts. For the 2 lower mounts, just get some self-tapping screws and tap into the frame. The front is a pretty complicated setup that for me, involved a fair bit of drilling and welding. Other people may have done things other ways.

BDS's body lift comes with bumper brackets for the front and rear. You could see if they sell them separately.

If you have the time and access to a welder, you can drill out the spot welds on the front inner bumper so you can remove the mount arms from the bumper itself. Then you do the same trick using 2x3 tubing but you need to slot it about halfway so the upper bumper tabs go INSIDE the 2x3 tube or else the bumper will sit too high and contact the grille. Once you have the bumper securely mounted onto your 2x3 tubes you can fab up some lower mount arm extenders. Just make a 90 degree angle and cut it with a jigsaw to the shape of the bumper mount, then have it welded to the mount arm, and then hold the mount arms up to the bumper with the bottom bolt in and get someone to weld your 90* angle (now welded to the stock mount arm) onto the bottom of the bumper. I did this on mine, it looks decent but I could have done a better job. It's fairly sturdy but no ARB.
