Title: 4 dr brakes on 2 dr convertible tracker?
Post by: Jarrodl on July 16, 2008, 02:44:37 PM
I just started subbing as a mail carrier. These brakes on my 2dr softtop are not holding up very well and not stopping to suit me. What do I need to change the front brakes over to 4 dr brakes? Can I get it all new from the parts store, or do I need to rob brackets or other parts off a wreck? You can buy "loaded" calipers from advanced auto here http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=A1C&MfrPartNumber=171487&PartType=5003&PTSet=A (http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=A1C&MfrPartNumber=171487&PartType=5003&PTSet=A) that shows a bracket on it, But I don't know if it is the same bracket I would need. Thanks

Aside from the pads and rotors just make sure the calipers have the mounting bracket with them as in the picture. The only other thing I had to do was trim back a bit of the backing plate.
