Well I guess im planning a spring over in the near future for my 85.5 LWB, any sugestions on how to go about doing it? its prety straight forward to me, but id just like to see some opinions from people that have sprung over a LWB before.

it's all the same as SPOA'ing a SWB zuk, same perches, driveshaft spacers, shock mount locations.
the only difference I would consider (which I never did, but still work fine) is lessening the rear spring perch angle over what the recommended SWB angle is. do not change the angle in the front or your steering will suffer dangerously!
angle varies on how high you wanna go though and if you lengthen your wheelbase at the same time as doing your SPOA .
if you are running 33's the front axle has to be moved forward 1.5 inches or you will have rubbage on turns in the back of the wheel well.
hope this helps :) - mike

thanks for the info, are you running stock leafs in yours?, I think ill only be runing 31's because its my daily driver, but of cource ill wheel it , just not near as hard as my LJ :P..

no my setup is dual shackles with CJ fronts in the rear and sammi RUF
you should be okay with the 31's but I'd drill new holes in the perches/hangers (i think they're called) to save you the work just in case you do decide to go bigger later on

i did the standard spoa the first time. then i went to rufs and cj's, now i am going to yj's. the only other thing i would recomend is a traction bar of some sort. it will save your rear springs. also invest in some longer bump stops.

hmm, I never did the bump stop thing but I guess it would be a good thing to have, I did build a rear traction bar and prolly put a couple of years on my CJ springs because of it.
before I had the traction bar I noticed the CJ's really suffer from a major case of spring wrap
