We have a 87 sammi who we decide to bring back to life!!!!
The problem is with the carb i have a couple of one here, and i decide to built one ....
First question is....what is the best number(size) for my primary and my secondary main jet, that i should use????
Second question is..... what is the primary setting for the mixture adjusting screw???
BTW im around 500 feet from sea level!!!

Here a picture....the arow point at the mixture adjusting screw....

is this the mixture screw you access by removing a pin that's in the way?
that is "set" and "shouldn't" be monkeyed with without a COmeter.
i don't have a baseline adjustment mentioned in my manual.
count turns so you remember where it was?
i thought of pulling that pin when i overhauled my original carb. just so i could mess with it, but didn't.

I check the number of turn before i remmove it .... but there was a groove in the needle like if they had tigh it to tight???

The carb is the #1 restriction on these engines. If you live in a state that doesn't have emissions, you may want to consider taking one from another vehicle (up to about 1.8L). There are toyota carbs that are direct bolt-on, and many others can be modified, or adapter purchased.

Come to think of it, i live in Smog Nazzi Callifornia, and I've still considered the swap. As long as the install LOOKS stock, the technicians don't really care / notice.
