From what I have read, front 4 door springs will lift my 2 door Tracker about an inch. I think my front springs are sagging and I am going to have them off to install my Calmini 2" lift...so, install a set of 4 door springs and the Calmini kit at the same time. Will this cause front end problems? Alignment problems, CV problems, etc..
I am sure someone has tried this or has it done.
Thanks,
Cwkick

There was a thread about using the RR 1 1/8" coil spacers with the Calmini 2" lift, so I wouldn't think you'd have any problems...
-
the 4 door springs are 3/8 longer and same ratio. unless you're talking grand vitara

If I did this too and stuck with Tracker/Sidekick 4 door springs, does year matter?
Is it a 1" lift all around?
-
I was referring to a "regular" 4 door Trak/Kick.

i'm not sure if you would even see any lift. :-/ some coil spacers would be your best bet.

I'm going to the junk yard tommorow to pick up a new crossmember.  I was going to pull some four door springs at the same time.  If I'm not going to gain anything from them, I'm not going to waste my time pulling them or buying them.  ;)

The 4 door springs are 50 Lbs stiffer than
2 door springs, you should see some lift
and a firmer ride, especialy with wide rims
and tires

just a comment, PLZ be carefull pulling springs in a wrecking yard. a coil has soo much energy stored up, you could really ruin your day, or your life...

Thank you for the warning! I would bring a floor jack and remove them the right way!

hehe, I remember being so scared when I went to do my lift kit (first time removing springs). It took me like 5 minutes to lower the a-arm down enough, because I was going so slow... ;D

LOL, they arent that bad, just undo
the 3 strut bolts first, let it fall, then
the 2 big strut bolts, knock them out
and get your springs, no worries

I was lowering a friend of mines car.  Had a coil spring in the compressors.  They deceided they wanted to meet each other.  Both compressors on one side of the spring. :o  We both ran from the garage!  The spring looked like the letter C.  We went in, set a floor jack on the works and unscrewed the compressors.
It sucked and I was scared!

Those spring compressors will
get you killed the fastest, stay
away from those unless you need
to use one, and you don't need one
on a Track/Kick

the coil spring compressors are good when your by yourself with no one wanting to help you.
but, i always make sure i can get 2 on a coil, directly or as close as possible to being opposite the other, as in, one on each side, so that it doesn't form a banana under a lot of pressure.
from the first time i had to remove coil springs, i'm still quite scared of them coils. after you've seen or known what damage they could/can cause, you'll be the same.
