Hey guys, Im looking into adding power steering to my 93 tracker. I think i've figured out everything I will need (P/S Pump & Bracket, Fluid Resivior/Lines, Steering Box). However, does anybody know if my current steering shaft is the same as the power steering one? will it work or do i need a different one? Is there anything else that I am missing that I am going to need?
Thanks in advance 8)

Steering shaft is different as well as the pitman arm.

Would you happen to know where I could get one by chance? Nobody around here has them and dealers say that the shafts are "discontinued" ???

Call Hawk Stirctly Suzuki at 1-888-SAMURAI. They will have all the parts you need and even make sure you are not overlooking something. When I was doing mine I was including an AC compressor to do on board air later and they pointed out that I had the worng brackets for my compressor (they came with two different compressors, who knew :-\ )

I just put power steering in my rig and i didnt need to change the pitman. But you do need the steering shaft.Pretty easy add on and a must if you got bigger tires.

That's right, if you have big tires and no power steering, you'll end up looking like me:

Big tires - Power Steering = Big arms
You can also add a locker into that equation and then it just equals broken fingers from the steering wheel flying back to a straight position. :D

Thanks for the replies. I called up Hawk friday evening and he did verify that i needed a new shaft...$45 and he has a few in stock. Atleast now I know where I can get one when I need it :)
I can stand it right now without power steering, but I know once I do what I want to do with this rig, I'll wish I had it...so I figure I would just take care of it now and have it done 8)
Thanks again!
