Title: Who manufactures wheels that fit...
Post by: INGERSOL on September 28, 2004, 03:49:00 AM
OK so the time has come to install new wheels and tires on my '03 tracker.  I have decided that 15x7 wheels (with 225/75-15 tires) is the size for me.  But when I contacted American Racing to get their simple, plain jane steel wheels, they tell me they have nothing that will fit my vehicle.  They claim to have had problems with the backspacing...

So who makes wheels in 15x7 that have the correct offset and backspacing for a GV/Tracker?

Is the bolt pattern 5 on5.5? If so those AR 767s will fit...I have the Pro Comp Rock Crawlers on my 92 Sunrunner (15X7 5 on 5.5)...they are built  better than the ARs and are powder coated as opposed to painted, they also don't have the red pinstripe...plus they were about $2 per wheel cheaper (that was not a factor BTW ;))

Rocky Road Outfitters (RRO) has steel wheels in different offsets.  You should be able to find what you need there.

I have heard there have been lots of problems with GVs and 15" wheels, the brakes foul on the rims. Someone went down this road before, it was a while back and might have been on another forum. Try searching back a year or so.

As long as stock Sami rims fit on a tracker then it's got the same bolt circle as old Fords. I run old turbo spoke rims (2 3/4" backspace) from a 78 F150 that fit and look great on mine. Sort've an old school look, which fits my ancient ass just fine. You shouldn't have any problems finding rims to fit, just quit asking for tracker rims and look for the 5 on 5.5 and whatever backspace you need.

I'll go with hotwired here... don't ask for stuff for Trackicks... people seem pretty ignorant about them and just kinda tell you that you can't do anything with them. ::)

I had a hell of a time finding custom backspaced wheels for a decent price when I got mine.  Finnally a sammy guy , that worked at a tire store, got me a screaming deal.  I wish Willamete(?) wheel were still in business.

I got my rims off of a older Bronco. They are American Racing Outlaw II aluminum. They fit perfect!!

I just ordered a set of wheels through Les Schwab... then found out 4 wheel parts had them for 5 bucks less a wheel.  :D
