does any one know if a suzuki sidekick ignition will work on a 87 sami

i have an '89 kick w/1.3L(carb) and the distributor looks the same as the sammy's i've looked at except wire lead was shorter on the sammy.
later model kicks seem different than mine.

just something i've noticed when scrounging thru wrecking yards. later model distributors don't look like they will fit.
mabe some modifications and they can be hammered on......
i used the head off an 1.3 samurai, and considered keeping the dist.
probably just needed to extend the lead wires and it would have worked fine.
i have'nt done it.

just noticed another post.
perhaps the 1.6L 8V dist. will fit a 1.3L.
