hey guys and gals.
I have a problem with my 88 samurai starting, you could get out and hit the solenoid with a hammer and it would start. I had been traversing a lot of mud and water, so i figured the solenoid was the culprit. |removethispart|@ auto zone a starter was 89.00 and the solenoid itself was 64.99 so i got and changed the starter, the solenoid clicks now, you can hear it when you turn the ignition switch, but you have to turn it sometimes 3 to 4 times to get it to roll over. The battery has been charged, cause i thought it was the problem before i started tapping on the starter solenoid. I have saw a sticky starter relay fix on the internet and wondered if this is the fix for my problem. thanks for all your help guys and girls.

When mine would start doing that I would just pull my key out and spray some electrical cleaner in the hole where the key was and it would fix it for a while. so bad ignition switch?
