Title: A trip into Canyon de Chelly, AZ back in July.
Post by: Rez Zuki 87 on September 01, 2008, 01:20:41 PM
We had some friends visiting and we took them on a tour of the canyon back in July.  We had to cut the trip short because of the rain.  The water started to run in the canyon and we did not want to be caught in a flood, so we had to make a quick exit.  Here are some of the pictures we took during the trip.

Those are awesome pictures... Are explorers allowed to access the dwellings and look around?

You're able to get up close to some them (several feet), but you're not allowed to go inside the ruins themselves.  I try to get some more pictures from the lookout points on top of the canyon.  If you want to see what a flood can do, go to flickr.com and type in "Stuck Truck, Canyon de Chelly".  It is an ex-military 2 1/2 ton truck used by one of the local tour company.
